Vancouver's West End at English Bay

A lot of nice weather these days in Van, plenty of opportunites to get out and shoot. Made this photo from the Burrard St bridge overlooking English Bay and Vancouver's West End.

Vancouver Auto Show Set - 2013 (part two)

Here are the last couple cars that stood out for me at the mostly disappointing Vancouver Auto Show. You can check out Part 1 here.

The Jaguar F-Type. What can I say? Aside from the current lack of a hard top version, it's pretty much perfect from every angle, especially the tail.

I love the twin center tail pipes, the sloping rear deck lid and those amazing brake lamps. Finally, we end the show on what is now a rather old design, the Lamborghini Gallardo.

They've had a lot of versions of this car and it really is an oddly beautiful design with huge amounts of road presence that looks great in white. They will no doubt replace it at some point, likely with the same sorts of styling we've seen on the Aventador or even the Sesto Elemento, I sure hope they don't mess up the styling or remove the choice of a base rear-wheel drive model.

I had hoped for more at the Van Auto Show and will likely not attend again. I go to these shows to get close to exotics and performance models. There was almost nothing to see, no next-gen Corvette, almost no AMG, and no hyper cars. Like I said in Part 1, Vancouver is car crazy so it's hard to believe they couldn't bring a few less pickups and encourage an official presence from the dream manufacturers. Just look at this photo, which was taken today in the valet lot across from my place of work, likely no more than 500 ft from the entrance to the show.

Streetfinds #17: Electric Blue Acura NSX

Easily my favourite Honda of all time, the Acura NSX. These are surprisingly rare to see just parked on a side street, but what a treat. Great color and the rear window offers a view of the engine bay, too. This one is an example of the 2002 facelift that robbed the NSX of its uber-cool pop up headlights.
